We first noticed these two little charmers in a next door neighbor’s driveway, under their car. We would see them playing when we walked our English Lab, Harold, in the evening. We didn’t see any sign of food or water (at least in the front of the home) so we left them some. When we asked the neighbors, they didn’t seem to mind. After 2-3 days, we were approaching a hot spell and we became worried about them. We finally had a chance to speak with their owner who said that her family situation had changed and that she was trying to re-home them. We, of course, volunteered. We love all cats but Tuxedos have a special place in our heart.

I came home from work the next day to find them dry and cool in Big Brother Leo’s kennel, snoozing away with full bellies. A trip to our veterinarian, Dr.Jessica Rivera of SPAH, pronounced them fit and disease-free. This was welcome news after we rescued Leo from the local park a year ago. We initially though they were sisters but J though she could feel ‘something there’ on one. I could not but when she examined them for their tests, she declared, ‘Congratulations, it’s a boy! So, Lilly became Henry. Nope, not gender reassignment; that was his original equipment. (!)

To tell them apart, their distinguishing features are few but they are present. Lucy seems to have longer hair, a fluffier tail and white hair in her ears. Henry has a thin white stripe up the left side of his nose. Beyond that, they are beautiful and handsome Tuxedos!
